Summer

ABOUT THE MEDIUM

As we approach Mike’s favorite time of year—summer—we remember a spirit that thrived in the warmth, rhythm, and pulse of the season. Mike was a force of energy and joy, an artist and music lover who turned sidewalks into galleries and mixtapes into love letters. Whether rollerblading through the city, spinning music for friends, or silk-screening vibrant shirts by hand, he lived life in bold color and full volume.

Summer was his season: concerts in the park, beach swims, sidewalk sales, and endless motion. He didn’t just attend shows—he became part of the scene, an ever-curious fan, always ready to share his latest discovery.

But alongside the brightness, Mike carried quieter battles. He faced real struggles with mental health, which sometimes made relationships challenging. Still, even through these difficulties, his creative fire never dimmed. His openness, humor, and willingness to express himself through art and sound gave us glimpses into a deep, searching soul.

To remember Mike now is to feel the beat of a great song on a hot day—full of laughter, movement, and boundless creativity, yes—but also to hold space for the complexity of his experience. He lived with intensity, and he loved with everything he had. That’s the spirit we carry forward.
